Print Quotas

Students have a print quota of 10 pages every 7 days. This applies to all student lab printers; if 10 pages are printed in the Library, no pages can be printed in any lab until the 7-day quota expires, a new 10-page quota begins.

What happens when I exceed my quota?
Nothing. No, really--nothing. If you try to print more, nothing will happen. Nothing will print. Nothing will come up on your screen to warn you or reprimand you. Just . . . nothing will happen. If you try to print an 11-page document, nothing will happen. You can, in the print dialogue screen, choose to print pages 1-10 only, and they will print, but if you attempt to print a document that exceeds your remaining quota, nothing will happen.
Resources folderWhat do I do if I really need to print more than my quota allows?
Inside the "Resources" sharepoint is a folder "BW Print Requests .10 pg." The "Resources" sharepoint can be seen on the desktop (Macintoshes) or in "My Computer" (Windows). Do this:
  1. Save your document normally.
  2. Drag a copy of your document into the "BW Print Requests .10 pg" folder. You may receive a warning that you cannot view the results of your action; that's OK.
  3. Tell the lab monitor the name of the file you saved.
  4. Pay the lab monitor 10 cents per page.
The lab monitor will print it for you.
