- Calculus teacher Timothy Myers was named Maryland's Outstanding High School Mathematics Teacher for 2002 by the Maryland Council of Teachers of Mathematics. He is featured in a Sun article of November 17, 2002.
- World and Classical Languages teacher Margaret Harmon was honored at the Maryland Foreign Language Association's October conference for her contributions as past president. Ms. Harmon, an active leader in the MFLA for many years, continues to serve as Corresponding Secretary and presented a session entitled "Connecting Latin to the Five C's" at the conference.
