Takia Wicks '09 won 2nd Place in the Tuskegee Debate competition on February 14, earning a trophy and $500 award.
As part of a young women’s leadership program, six Western students demonstrated their speaking skills at a joint informational session with St. Paul’s School for Girls and Mercy High School on February 3rd.
Neikita Jackson '09, Kayanna Johnson '10, and Amina Abou-Bakr '10 were chosen to serve in the Mayor's Executive Internship Program, working in the Mayor's Office one half day per week.
Charnice Blackledge '09 and Danesha Thomas '10 were selected for the Baltimore City Council Page Program to work in the offic of the City Council President one afternoon per week through the end of the school year.

The 2008-2009 school year begins for all students on Monday, August 25, 2008.
