- Western girls figure prominently in the Sun's spring all-metro and all-county awards. Junior Theresa Lewis is All-Metro Track and Field "Performer of the Year." Senior Julia Nelson (lacrosse), sophomore Kari Edwards (softball), junior Shalaiya Sommerville (track and field), sophomore Tashana Johnson (track and field), senior Stephanie Peels (tennis), sophomore Shatera Kimbrough (tennis), and junior Sydnee Logan (tennis) were named to All-City or All-Metro teams. Track and field coach Jerry Molyneaux was named city Coach of the Year, leading the Doves to their 16-th straight city title.

- Western bid farewell to the Class of 2005 in a traditional assembly on June 1.
- The Sun profiles senior Nicole Clarke in a front-page article of its May 30, 2005 edition: "After four years of hard work at Western High, Baltimore's elite public school for girls, Clarke was offered admission at some of the nation's most prestigious universities: Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, MIT and Johns Hopkins. The colleges paid for her to visit their campuses and dangled promises of full scholarships."
- Western's Track Team won the state Class 3A championship on May 28, defeating Long Reach 96.16-64 at Morgan's Hughes stadium.
- The Drama Department presented "Empty Cradle," a one-act play by Nicky Smith ('06), on April 22, 2005 at 6:30 p.m.
- Christen Brown, '05, was selected to participate in the 2005 Maryland All-State Senior Chorus. The only BCPSS student chosen, she will perform with the Senior Mixed Chorus in February in Frederick. Christen is a member of Western's Concert Choir and Sounds Unlimited.
- On December 11, 2004, Sounds Unlimited performed at the M&T Bank Pavilion at the Hippodrome as a part of the Holiday Sing. The ensemble was accompanied by Mr. Julius Tilghman, piano and Joe Dickerson, percussion.
- On December 9, 2004 Sounds Unlimited performed at the Women's Industrial Exchange on 333 N. Charles Street. Jacques Kelly noted the performance in his column in the Sun on December 11th.
- Founders' Day celebrations honored Western's 160th year on November 5, with Mayor Martin O'Malley, City Council Members Stephanie Rawlings Blake and Lisa Stancil, and High School Area Officer Frank DeStefano in attendance.
- Western observed Junior Day with an assembly featuring the talent of the Class of 2006.
- Farai Chideya ('86), author and political analyst, spoke to classes at Western on October 26.
- Spirit Day festivities on October 21 marked the beginning of our Founders' Day celebration of Western's 160th year.
- State test scores for Western students rise and show Western among the top schools in the Metro area!
- Our attendance for last year was 94.1%.

- Ilana DeBare, author of Where Girls Come First: The Rise, Fall, and Surprising Revival of Girls' Schools, spoke at Western on Wednesday, October 13 at 7 p.m.
- Following Western tradition, the Class of 2005 was inaugurated on September 24.
- Western welcomes the Class of 2008 and new staff members.
- Celebrate Western's 160th year with us! See the Founder's Day 2004 events!
- Open House for students interested in enrolling next year will be held on November 3, 2004, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
- 1st Annual Eva Scott Scholarship Golf Tournament takes place on October 30.
