Ravens' Hartwell visits Western Freshman

Jasmine Jeffreys, '06, was awarded a special prize in the Baltimore Believe campaign: a visit from Ed Hartwell, linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens. Rather than keep the chance to meet Hartwell to herself, Jasmine volunteered for the visit to be shared with her classmates.



So, on Thursday, May 29, 2003, Mr. Hartwell spoke to Jasmine and a group of Westernites in the school library.



He answered numerous questions about life as an NFL player, his own sports and educational background, his Ravens teammates, and his other interests. Hartwell has a degree in special education and hopes to be a counselor in the future, and he stressed the importance of a solid education.



Jasmine received a certificate, and other Ravens souvenir items.



Hartwell provides an autograph for Mr. Brian King, Health teacher and Ravens fan, who helped coordinate the event.
